David R. Boozer

The father to Mark and Brian, David has been the inspiring force behind his sons’ interest in this industry. After receiving his BSME from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1961, David began working for the Trane Company in Sales Engineering. He left Trane during wartime to serve his country as an Army 1st Lieutenant in the capacity of Infantry Rift and Weapons Platoon Leader and Company Executive.

Upon completion of his term with the U.S. Army, David returned to work with the Trane Company as a Sales Engineer. For sixteen years he worked with the Contractors and Consulting Engineers in the design and installation of both industrial and commercial air conditioning systems. In 1980, he moved on to Sales Manager for Trane in Charlotte, North Carolina, supervising seven Sales Engineers. His expertise and experience were recognized and appreciated by Trane, and in 1985 he became the General Manager for Charlotte Trane Sales. He served in this position for the next sixteen years and was responsible for the sales and P&L performance of all aspects of the business. With 100 employees under his command, David coordinated the Trane equipment, parts and automation systems, as well as customer service. In 2001 David proceeded to serve as Acquisition Manager for Trane Sales then on to Special Projects Engineer.

In 2005, David joined his sons as an Engineering Consultant for Hydronic Systems. His many years of experience and expertise in the field have proven invaluable in the design and development of new systems. He particularly enjoys their more technically challenging projects and his sons greatly appreciate his input as well as the mutual pleasure of their working relationship.

David is a life long member of ASHRAE and has served in the capacity of President of the Southern Piedmont Chapter and as their Regional Educational Director. He also serves as an Elder for his home church.
